Join the David Davis Mansion
volunteer corps and become a part of history. The David Davis
Mansion needs you. Volunteers are a vital part of the
Mansion's operation. They serve to expand the site's
resources; to create and strengthen our ties to the community; and
to bring new skills and a fresh perspective to our programs.
As interpreters of the Mansion's past, volunteers have a chance to
make a lasting contribution to the visitor's appreciation of
American history. Volunteers also help to preserve the Mansion
as an essential cultural and aesthetic resource, making this
community a better place to live.
Tour guide:
Provide guided, interpretive tours of the Mansion; interpretation
includes family and social history, political history, and
architectural and decorative arts history. Each guide is asked
to work a minimum of four hours per month. Requires attendance
at 3 evening training classes held twice yearly and knowledge of
interpretive information contained in a "Volunteer Training
Manual."

Greet visitors as they arrive at the Barn/Visitor Center; organize
tours, and help with special assignments. Training is minimal
and provided on the job.

from the regular volunteer corps and temporary special events
volunteers. Some events include costumed guides.
Training varies with the event.
Museum Gift Shop Sales:

offered in the shop; profits are used to support special events,
educational programs and acquisitions.
